One designer I will always cover during fashion week is Nanette Lepore. You know I love her, I am pretty sure I have tweeted her multiple time, so she knows I love her haha... There is a lot of love here ;-). Anyhoo, this collection was different that what I am used to from Nanette. What I normally feel inspired by is the femininity and whimsy that usually exudes from Nanette's fun collections. This was different but most certainly in a good way. There was almost a militaristic feel to the looks that came down the runway, mostly in the structured coats and darker color palate... but Nanette was actually inspired by Mars, which is interesting in and of itself. There were still fun details like mesh cutouts which kept it fresh for me. And the coats, oh the coats. She rocked out some awesome coats that would make fabulous staple pieces for years to come. Needless to say, I really dug it, which coming from Nanette Lepore is not a big surprise. Something I love about all of her collections is the wearability and this one was not a disappointment in that regard. Check out some of my favorite looks from her Fall Winter 2013 line, I am sure there is a coat with your name on it.
