This year, Prim and Propah turns 5 years old. Geesh, this blog has been one of the great commitments of my life. I kept my dog and cat alive for 7 and 8 years, respectively. I've gotten married, bought a house and had a child. All pretty committed commitments... but this blog. This blog could have fizzled out but it didn't. This has definitely been an outlet for me over the years. It has been strong and robust at times but has also had slightly anemic periods where it was on life support, whether due to lack of time or focus or energy. But here she is, 5 years later (
in June) and she's still kicking. Like my life over the past few years, this blog has shifted. What I want to talk about is somewhat different and what is important to me is changing in direction... so it's time to refocus and with that shift, a redesign.
My girl Amy of
Creative Soul Spectrum, is like one of my top favorite graphic designers ever because she helps me whenever P&P needs a little face lift or even a simple pick me up. I contacted her earlier this year because I wanted Prim and Propah to reflect more of what my life was about these days. I still have similar interests, sure, but the time I spend doing those things is fewer and farther between these days. The baby is a new-ish development and as expected, fills a lot of my time... but I wouldn't have it any other way. The Amanda of today is movin' and a shakin', doin' what she do... in order to make it through the day. The extra curricular fun that is fit in between preparing bottles, washing dishes, cooking, chasing hairballs with a vaccuum, etc is often to keep my sanity in tact ie. yoga, wine and shopping etc... so why am I writing a blog that looks like it's for a Crafy Woman in Charge? I am crafty in other ways these days so a redesign was in order, toot sweet. I had an idea of what I wanted so jotted it down. Amy took that loose sketch and made it into exactly what I wanted, per usual. Take a peek!

So do you kinda get where I am headed here? Do I even know where I am headed? No, but I have an idea of what I kinda want to talk about sometimes. I also like the idea of being spontaneously inspired to write and not have to worry about it not "fitting" on the blog. This is a true "lifestyle" blog because it will document whatever the style of my life is at that time. I'm utilizing lots of life's little tools, whatever I can, when I can.
What do you think of the new design and direction?
Um. I love it. It's so you!
