This past weekend I was super fortunate to get the opportunity to get my butt kicked at a spin class courtesy of Flywheel Boston and Marshalls. I say fortunate with a little bit of hesitance since while I was peddling away on my spin stationary bike, I was cursing my life... but at the end of the day, I got a killer workout, with some killer folks in a killer outfit. Let me start at the very beginning... The #propahbaby and I headed out to my local Marshalls (also a HomeGoods, BONUS) to get some new workout clothes. This is a new year, and as cliche as it sounds, I want to get fit and lose that baby weight. As hard as it is to get to the gym or to yoga, it's that much harder when I feel like a frumpy dumpster. The other day, I legit wore my maternity yoga pants because I didn't have anything else clean. While those pants are comfy, for sure, they don't really make me feel like I am ready to conquer the world. The lil' dude and I took to the activewear, dividing and conquering. What I came home with was a whole lot of new gear that I can wear to yoga, to spin, to drop the babe at daycare and everything in between.

I gotta say, my kid is a total shopping champ. Not only was he a helpful little companion but he was doling out the smiles to fellow shoppers while Mom was deciding which sports bra would be perfect for her current "form". My Marshalls always has a great selection and the sizes I need, which is nice because with my little shopping bud, sometimes I don't have the time to peruse for hours anymore. Knowing that I would be hitting an intense spin class with some fellow Boston Bloggers, I decided on some Under Armour dry wick clothing, you know, so my sweat wouldn't be
as bothersome to my fellow classmates (
which turned out to be a lost cause). In addition to my spin clothes, I grabbed a couple of tanks for yoga, running capris that aren't my black stand by's and some ankle socks. I also accidentally found a jean jacket in the active wear section that I believe was kismet/stars aligning since it was only $20 and fit me like a glove! Yesssssssssss! I have to say it was one of my more successful Marshalls trips in quite some time.
The outfit I ended up wearing to Flywheel was a hit, though the matching sneakers were a moot point since they were swapped for those click in, velcro jobbies but still, I felt like a snazzy albeit sweaty workout fiend... until I collapsed on the couch from exhaustion at 830pm. You know what though? I already signed up for another spin class because I felt so accomplished afterward Flywheel. Since I have all these new workout clothes, I should be ready to take on the world, kickin' A, takin' names and leaving that baby weight in my dust.
What is your go-to workout gear? Where do you shop for it?
*Marshalls provided me a gift card to purchase active wear for the complimentary Flywheel class. All opinions are my own. I love Marshalls forever and ever, Amen.
So nice to see you! I love the pictures of the babe shopping ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG I thought about how nice it was to see you all weekend, no lie. I'd love to get together sometime soon!
ReplyDeletesounds good! :)
ReplyDeleteHahahah this is so good #propahbaby is SERIOUS about shopping just look at that face!! Can we bring him spinning next time?
ReplyDeleteWhile I feel my baby would be successful at anything he puts his mind to, I would much rather bring him to brunch with all the ladies first ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy recent addiction is these Backless Home Yoga toe fiver finger socks, non-slip yoga socks, female sports cotton Sport PVC socks bought from Aliexpress.com. They're surprisingly good.
