Couture Design Complete

Last Thursday night was my last night of my Couture Design Class. We basically had three projects for the semester. The main project was constructing a corset, which was pretty much my life for the past few months. We also had a designer project, similar to a report on a biography you did back in high school. Lastly, we had a draping project, which was squeezed into a very tiny time frame, and made me want to pull my hair out... but it's done and I learned a lot... like how I am my own worst critic.
My final Project

My class was a great built in support system, mainly because the majority of us work full time and also take classes that require many hours of your spare time. By the end of a semester, we are all critical of our own work but quick to let every one else know how much we loved what the other had done. It's a sign of sweet support and also not so sweet exhaustion haha. I finished my dress after many struggles with creativity. I spent one entire class trying to work out a direction on the dress form. I left so frustrated and irritated... but after a Sunday-long sesh in the lab, I took out some black jersey and finished it in the nick of time. Check out some of the other finished garments from my kickin' Couture design class, some more couture than others (there seemed to be a rash of people wanting to make close they could wear).

What do you think of our final designs? We managed to pull them together in about 3 weeks time.
