Last night was the Boston Bloggers event at the Lansdowne in Boston. While I was apprehensive at first, being that it was my first meet and greet, I ended up really enjoying the atmosphere and wishing it had lasted longer so I could meet more people. Two hours goes really quick when you're having fun.
This is one of those events where everyone has a common interest, putting themselves and their blog (or labor of love) out there. Some bloggers are more established or are there for business purposes and others are there just to get their blog out there, to garner some support and followers. Any way you slice it, this is one of those great events where people are friendly and supportive, no matter what your blog is called or what it is categorized under.
Some of the notable bloggers that I met, well all of them that I met, were fantastic. One of the event hosts, Katy of Modly Chic, was as cool in person as she seems online. She threw a fantastic party with Alison of Long Distance Loving. I also met Sara with Blue Blinds Media, who I have had an intimate online relationship with (we worked together on The Fashionable Housewife). She was a joy and as smart as I imagined her to be in real life. Also a joy were Lea from Found with Love and Sara from Forever and a Recipe. I had such an adorable (and lengthy) conversation with Melissa of The Long Haul Project , Michael of Gingham and Leather and Jennifer of ISM that ended the night on a great note. I can't wait to be engaged in these blogs and with these bloggers in the near future. I am sure I mentioned it last night but it is so much easier to be a great support and a stellar follower if you have met your fellow bloggers in person.
Other bloggers at the event that I didn't get a chance to meet (but hope to next time) were:
I am hoping you and I can check them out together and find some great new reads from the Boston area. If you are one of these bloggers (or any blogger for that matter) that wants to chat, network and "make friends", then I am totally up for it. My sidebar has all my contact info and let's get this friendship going!
Great recap Amanda, sad that I missed it! But I love that you added everyone's name and blog on here too! Looking forward to meeting you at the next one!
ReplyDeleteIt was so great meeting you too! Thanks for the shout-out - I'm loving your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't make it last night as I had intended (stupid allergies!). Thanks for linking to my blog. Glad to hear your first meet up experience went well. I guess June will be my first one. Maybe I shall meet you there?

I look forward to seeing you in June, I think that's when they have tentatively scheduled the next one!
ReplyDeleteMoving is the worst, so I can totally understand you skipping... but we will see you next time! <3
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda! This is Amanda Beth Flynn from http://amandabethonline.blogspot.com . You messaged me ages ago through IFB, and I never got back to you, but I wanted to let you know that I have been checking your blog periodically and really enjoying it. :) And this post is great! I haven't ever ventured out to any blog or fashion related events in Boston (although I've been invited by Gilt City before) because it kind of scares me half to death (lol), but your account of this event is encouraging. Maybe I'll get out to one of these in the future. :) Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteHi, Amanda! It's too bad I didn't get the chance to talk to you at the event on Wednesday. Thanks for reading mine, and now I'm checking out yours!
ReplyDeleteAt this moment I am going to do my breakfast, afterward having my
ReplyDeletebreakfast coming again to read additional news.

Hey! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog.
ReplyDeleteIs it tough to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I'm
thinking about setting up my own but I'm not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thanks
